What's Happening at Ascendant Books

   Thank you all for your fantastic support in Jan. for the launch of our pet rescue initiatives!  It was inspiring to see the generosity and compassion of this community and we are very grateful.  This month proceeds from our silver pet pendants will be going to The Pet Therapy Society and representatives from the Society will be in the store on Sat, Feb 25 from 1 – 4pm to share with you their aims.

   In case you hadn't heard about our new initiative.....

   We have introduced a new tradition at the store of promoting some of the hard-working and lesser known Animal Rescue organizations here in Alberta.  Each month we will be promoting a different Animal Rescue group that relies heavily on donations and volunteers.  We will invite a representative of the group to come to the store on one day each month to offer information about their group and take donations at the store and each month (all month) we will be selling a beautiful line of silver pendants in the shape of a cat or dog and donating $20 of the $47 dollar cost of the pendants to the rescue group of the month (ask at counter).  Animals have had a profoundly positive effect on the lives of most of the people associated with the store and the store’s owner has decided to share this issue that is so dear to her heart with our community.
